World class research and modern teaching are closely interconnected at the University of Hohenheim (UHOH). Its graduates are young professionals who are much in demand. Hohenheim cultivates international partnerships with universities and other research institutes in over 90 countries around the world. Currently, almost 10.000 students attend a total of 48 courses of study in the fields of “General and Applied Natural Sciences“, “Agricultural Sciences” and “Economic and Social Sciences“. The University is a member of Euroleague for Life Sciences quality network of European universities. UHOH is also part of the EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). The Hohenheim Research Center for Bioeconomy is a central inter-faculty research network of the UHOH. The aim of the center is to strengthen the University’s scientific potential in the field of Bioeconomy with special emphasis on the Food Chain. The Research Center for Bioeconomy brings together the numerous scientific activities from agricultural sciences, biology, food sciences, to socio-economic sciences to establish new interdisciplinary research projects. The center has a wide international network including research institutions, large and small/medium industries, associations, governmental authorities and technology transfer agencies. It is especially strong in European research and cooperation activities.
